Project Blue Book Report investigated by Daniel Wilson

Here are a couple of good UFO reports from Ohio, both on July 23, 1952. In my opinion both these reports should be listed as Unknowns. The Springfield, Ohio, report was being called a hoax, for no obvious reason, see the last page of the report.

The Lockbourne AFB report is also outstanding and as in the Springfield case there were fighters scrambled. Neither of these reports are listed in the Project Blue Book Master Index. Were they covering up? The Lockbourne AFB case was investigated by OSI.

At between 2005 and 2215, two lights, some described them as white globes, were seen high in the sky. Jet aircraft were seen near where the lights were seen and later it was learned that the 97th Fighter Squadron had scrambled some of its planes and they were investigating the incident.

At 2055, Major A. S. Griffin, Base Comptrollers Office, called in a report that while he was at the scout camp near Yellow Springs, Ohio, at almost dark, he had seen three lights high above the Springfield Municipal Airport. He watched the object through field glasses and he said there were two jets that appeared to be investigating.

Comments: Case not listed in Project Blue Master Index.

On this same day four objects were seen high in the sky above Lockbourne AFB, at Lockbourne, Ohio, approximately 44 miles ESE of Springfield, Ohio.

SPOT INTELLIGENCE REPORT
6TH DISTRICT OFFICE OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS

Numerous witnesses observed four (4) objects hovering in the vicinity of the Lockbourne AFB, Columbus, Ohio. The objects were round and flourescent white in color. Two F-84 jets were dispatched from Lockbourne AFB, but were unable to identify the objects. Approximately 90 per cent of the personnel at the base observed the objects. Later through means of triangulation the objects were determined to be at 75,000 feet in altitude.
